Sourcing 99 spec rear lights

What's the current thinking of the best place to source 99 spec rear lights (and centre panel) from?

ZCentre is £552 for the 3 panels inc vat, but without shipping.

Is it cheaper to source from the states even after taking shipping and taxes into account?

It all rather depends on the declared value of the goods. You will be charged duty (4.5%) on the declared value of the goods and then VAT (20%)

on the goods, the shipping and duty combined. Plus a courier handing admin fee for customs clearance. CZP have the kit of 3 on sale ATM.

For reference the parts#'s are:

26555-VP125
26550-VP125
26540-VP100

Unsure why this calculator hasn't added the 4.5% import on.

I took a guess at $50 shipping. The 4.5% duty is paid on cost of goods plus shipping cost combined.

Sometimes US parcels dodge customs, but that's getting rare.

CZP is going to be the better deal. I got mine from them some time ago as I worked the maths. Even from Japan stocks they are looking expensive which is where Zcentre ultimately would be getting them from through Nissan.

The seller declares the value of the goods with the shipment. However, if HMRC are suspicious of the true value when it arrives in the UK

then the buyer can be asked to declare what they think the value (as I have been in the past). This has implications as you can imagine.

The other thing to bear in mind is that in the event of a total loss during shipment (for example the package goes missing) that the maximum

payout will be the shipper's declared value.

I would not say that parts are anymore expensive than any other cars. The problem is most parts are not readily available at every corner and most of the time we end up paying dealer prices + overheads and shipping across the world. Be it japan, usa or netherlands warehouses. I remember when I was compiling a list of required parts for an accident damaged Mercedes E Class they were a lot more eye watering. £800 each headlight, £500 bumper skin, £50 numper plate holder(one piece plastic plate). When you take into consideration the actual price of 300zx when new, the prices of parts actually are relatively cheap. The problem is the actual value of the car now vs the parts and that it does not actually add that much value, if any.

I have use CZP over some years & they have my list of orders over $500.

recently I ordered some gearbox bushes from zspeed while I understand paying duty & tax but why should I pay fedex £12.00 for advancement payment?

can anyone explain this.

When I've used Fedex in the past they have paid any duty and VAT owed on my behalf so that the shipment is not delayed

in customs (or handler's storage) waiting for you to pay before release. I get a Fedex invoice in the mail.  That's the £12 service

charge. On a large order I'm not really bothered, but on a small order it does sting a bit.

No I’ve pitched them a message to see if they speak Japanese or have agents in the US. For OEM parts I’m quite happy using Amayama which is why I’ve never looked for an OEM part supplier and have had a few bargains out of the UAE warehouses. Happy to source part numbers and pay the tax myself without any extra being added on. Be interested to hear of those that have used them for any significant parts and what price you paid landed for comparison.

ACPF source from the Nissan parts network in the UK, Europe and Japan. Parts are priced up on their website and are

usually discounted on Nissan's UK list price. I've found them to be cheaper on some items than importing from the US

when shipping and duty are taken into consideration. As with all things it pays to shop around, but I've always had good

service from ACPF.

I thought I would give ACPF a go on a part I’ll want in the future. No have no stock as it is no longer available to them [emoji53] it is available from CZP and Amayama though so as a test run didn’t produce the result I was after.

Part number is 91740-30P10 for reference.

Has anyone tried your local Nissan dealer lately ?   Back in the day they used to be cheaper for  lot of OEM parts than other UK specialists or than Importing from the U.S.
