I’ve seen this one on eBay and it looks really clean to be honest. I haven’t seen it in person or know the owner unfortunately. Bodywork looks really good as it’s had a respray and interiors been retrimmed cleanly which is great. The worth is really in the cars maintenance, rust free body, accident damage free and resolution of the common faults and completion of maintenance such as;

- has it had the 60k/120k maintenance kit done relatively recently?
- regular oil changes any other fluid changes?
- has the ptu been changed for a phase 2 one?
- are the injectors the original phase 1 or the phase 2 upgraded?
- does the gearbox have crunching in the higher gears? (You’ll have to look up which ones are common - I think it’s the higher gears?)
- how long ago was the clutch/flywheel done?
- can you get any current photos of the chassis to see if there’s any rust in the sills, brake lines or generally anywhere else?
- ask what garage it was maintained at? If PowerZed then it’s likely to be decent, however if it was maintained at places like outlaw customs or LA autos then run a mile and don’t look back.

Its all well and good getting a Zed for a decent price but if you have to carry out all the above maintenance, then they can become very expensive indeed! If the cars maintenance history and underside/chassis is as clean as it looks from the photos, then I’d say it is worth the money or near to the asking price.

  1. The advert states it smokes at idle so no it 100% is not fixed.And his description says if you raise the revs it stops which is indicative of  a failed turbo.Imho 15k is strong money for a car  that has a  £1800 bill looming.

Ok so I’ve made an offer on the car at £3k less than the asking price, apparently the smoking stops when it warms up, but I think that £12 is a fare offer, mr hummer if I get it could I bring her to you could you fix it

If I were you I'd at least ask for an MOT to be done before handing over anything... Don't rush into choosing one. For that price I'd expect a very good car... Not one that doesn't have an MOT, has been off the road for years and from Jim's diagnosis, probably needs turbos at very least. Be careful, these cars can cost alot if you buy a lemon.

The guy was going to put a fresh mot on it, but yes I agree with you

Depending on your budget why don't you look into importing one from Japan? Prices are strong at the moment, but with the way UK prices are going it wouldn't take long to break even.

JM-Imports or TorqueGT would be who I would speak to.
