  1. Saw your car today, looking super clean [emoji1417]New exhausts are spot on size wise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Mats sound good - please do post up some pictures when you get the chance [emoji1417] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah that definitely is a dilemma faced by a lot of owners of special cars that have low mileage. Ah that’s a shame about the wheel shop - I can only assume it’s because they’re super busy right now. A lot of car enhancement shops seem so busy now - must be the positive attitude of coming out of lockdown getting people doing up their cars for summer etc. Their workmanship is excellent, so although they might be a pain right now to deal with, the final product will be worth it. 4. Yeah my JDM March 1993 has seatbelts on the pillars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sorry for the short notice, I won’t be able to make it due to various issues on the car as per my thread. Going to PowerZed on Monday to hopefully get it all sorted! Shame as weather forecast is great - hope you guys have a great time and will join you on the next one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That's good to hear - glad your car is in a solid state so no more works to do for now. Guess it's such low mileage, must feel so fresh. The tyres do make the world of difference - had Nexens on the back from the previous owner and I'd always spin the rears off the lights, but no more now though hurray! Great about the wheels - the polished lip looked fantastic when waxed. That shop will do a great job, I've used them 3-4 times in the past and top notch every time. My service history file had a few air leak repairs on the old Veilsides from the past owner - guess it's part of ownin
  7. Thanks for the positive feedback - glad to hear you've enjoyed it! Yeah the blue really pops when waxed and kept in good condition, hence why I keep it so shiny haha 😄. Definitely is the best way to do things, especially on older cars. Hopefully now though, after the trip to Jim's, it will finally be time for the respray - I've got a spare bed at home filled with the parts waiting to go on! My Zed has always handled excellently and also always been on the stiff side, which I like as I use her for fast drives a lot - also don't have speed bumps near me so that helps hah! The pr
  8. Yeah the steel thickness I was wondering about, and I've put it on my 'to ask Jimmer' list, so hopefully he'll have an idea, which as you say, will help me with the course of action. From what Lexx is saying, should be ok either way for now. Unfortunately don't have Conzult yet but should invest in one soon. The idle is weird - it's done it since when I went to view the car at Ollie's, but only when the engine is cold. When warm, it's mostly perfect idle. I've recently read up on the VG's various idle control units - quite complicated so yes going to leave to Jim to hopefully sort!! I co
  9. Oh phew ok, sounds like I should be ok for a while now.
  10. Thanks for the feedback 👍 I have indeed covered it in the epoxy - I had it at my mechanics ramp on a Friday all day and left it over the weekend to dry. Put straps back on Sunday night before reopening Monday morning so time was tight. The trials and tribulations of not having my car port sorted - dam neighbour! Ah I see - the Rustbuster instructions and some googling said to do it to bare metal, so thought best follow this - guess in hindsight that rule probably doesn't apply when you got some corrosion in the pitting remaining like I do. I'd usually put on a red oxide/zinc primer like I
  11. Ticket has been booked. I tried to register on the club stand, but there's an issue with verifying my email link - have contacted them so hopefully can sort.
  12. Last month I took the zed for an oil change and also to take the fuel tank straps off, as I noticed a tiny bit of rust under the tank straps. When I had the suspension bits blasted and painted, I specifically told them to check the tank under the straps, as I’d seen on the forum someone mention they had rust creep up there out of nowhere, which made me a bit paranoid. They blasted and painted the tank straps but didn’t tell me about this rust, which has peed me off [emoji2363][emoji35]. Anyway, I got a wire brush on one of those mechanics air compressor fed drills, and blasted the rust away,
  13. Your interior is in great condition - well done! [emoji3]. Look forward to seeing more photos as you progress. When is yours booked in at PowerZed? I’m down there in a few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Indeed [emoji1417]. Should hopefully be some of the last works I need to do, to get the car to a solid state hurrah! Everything else has been done either by myself or previous owners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yeah he’s got some tasty cars for sale that’s for sure. That Capri is like a time warp - properly cool looking car. Loving the Dodge Challenger and Charger [emoji7]. I saw Harlow Jap Autos who import only the best examples have a stock 300zx TT manual for £25k - super clean Oem example, if that’s more your thing. 16. The preventative maintenance works which I originally planned to get done in October (before these leaks cropped up), are as follows; - New OEM LHD 95 wiring harness; RHD are discontinued and Jim advised against any other aftermarket ones. LHD are longer but do fit. - Series 2 CAS to suit the 95 harness. I noticed the connector pins on my CAS looked smooth but corroded in colour, so thought may as well replace with new whilst I'm there. - OEM knock sensor and sub-harness - Fuel pressure regulator and fuel damper (I have the original almost black coloured items so should
  17. I've put the respray back by a month or so, in order to get some essential repairs and maintenance done - driving her a lot over summer is my priority over perfect paintwork. Thankfully Jimmer has a slot coming up in a few weeks, so taking her down there and hopefully get everything sorted. Some pressing matters that need sorting are; We changed the oil a couple of weeks ago and noticed an oil leak from the back of the engine. In addition to this, last October (as per a previous post of mine) just before I took the Zed for the chassis/bushes works, I noticed the drivers floor gett
  18. Just seen BigH's beautiful grey wide body 300zx for sale link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX/393233244116?hash=item5b8e871fd4:g:PD0AAOSwfZ9gaaHi. Considering the amount of money that's been invested, this is great value for money and is definitely up there with my club favourites. Not everyday you see a Zed of this calibre go up for sale, so thought I'd share in case anyone is looking to buy a ready built car; If I was looking, I'd have bought it already!
  19. Great, thanks for that [emoji1417]. Haha I also don’t like the road noise but love the exhaust note especially when flooring it [emoji41]. Hopefully this stuff will help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What size pack did you buy of this sound deadening? I see they’ve got about 3-4 different size packs on their website. Might do mine over summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Simply Japanese would be great to go to - do a club entry if you can. The world of wheels sounds interesting and close to home for us Tom! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Very happy to see they’ve kept the prototypes design [emoji3]. I’ve forgotten about that grill now - seems to have grown on me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Sorry I’ve not been on much recently - I remember you’ve mentioned this before haven’t you. I’d be up for this for sure, maybe not the whole stretch but definitely a good chunk of it. June also quiet at work so ideal. Maybe someone can advertise on the Facebook group and get the word out, as I’m not on Facebook either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. RIP Sabine - what a legend. Shocked to hear this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Denbies sounds like a good idea to me - nice amount of parking by looks of it and should be empty on a Sunday morning. Shall we look at meeting earlier perhaps, to avoid traffic as much as we can? Got a bit too busy last time. Depends obviously on how early you can all do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
